Our head office in the beautiful city of York means that Yorkshire Life Financial Services are able to provide face to face customer service across the whole of Yorkshire (appointments at our York office, unless otherwise agreed), in addition to continuing our excellent telephone service for the rest of the country and even overseas.
We are a family-run company who prides themselves in an outstanding reputation created over a number of years, with the majority of our clients coming through personal recommendations. We also work closely with a number of reputable financial advisers, accountants, solicitors and financial institutions.
As well as delivering expert mortgage advice, our team will help you tailor your personal and business insurance needs to meet your current and future requirements. We are experts at putting together bespoke Family Survival Plans, ensuring that you and your loved ones are secure if something unexpected happens.

Ian is the company director and has been working within financial services for over twelve years. He holds an Advanced Qualification in Mortgage Advice (Adv CeMAP) together with his BA (Hons) in International Economics in which he obtained a First Class Degree, having studied in Toronto, Canada for one of the years. Ian has an in depth knowledge of general mortgage and lender criteria and excels in the larger loan (£250,000+) area of advice. He believes in doing a professional job with a down to earth attitude and also has specialist knowledge in the Buy-to-Let sector, helping many clients in this area. Ian is married to Cath and they have six children together.
Chris comes from a law background and his passion for the intricacies of land law lead him to pursue a career as a mortgage advisor. He has spent a number of years working abroad, speaks German fluently and is well equipped to deal with our clients at an international level. As a volunteer with the Citizens Advice Bureau, Chris obtained a wealth of experience helping clients with a wide variety of issues, and this expertise means that Yorkshire Life Financial Services is in a good position to direct clients to other organisations when they require help that is outside our remit.
Charles was recruited from a high street estate agency firm due to his excellent reputation and friendly nature. Charles has worked in financial services for a large part of his working career and has been a dedicated mortgage adviser for over 20 years. Charles specialises in helping first time buyers and can assist with working out general affordability for people looking to purchase their first house and assist clients with re-mortgaging their existing homes. Charles lives in York and has three grown up children. His hobbies include reading and socialising and he is currently learning to play the piano!
Kenny is the company head of administration having being recruited by Ian from the public sector. Prior to that, he was a self-employed business administration specialist supporting and advising clients on improving their administrative processes. Here at Yorkshire Life Financial Services Kenny also has responsibility for company accounts and compliance. Kenny lives with his family on the Isle of Skye and also oversees the running of a 5-bedroom weekly holiday-let property.
Cath is married to Ian and works part-time in administration. This fits around her very active lifestyle looking after six (soon to be seven…) children. Cath is keen for Ian to buy a TV for the house.
Simon is an administration assistant working part-time in the Isle of Skye with Kenny. Simon is married with two young children.
Maxine is personal assistant to Ian Dawson and is based in the York Office at Clifton Moor. Maxine is married with one grown up son.
